hi all, i came to byc because i had a rooster that wasnt feeling well and posted imediately, i appreciate this site being here. i have visited in the past just browsing information but ran into a situation where i needed to post. so i got right into it .
my father grew up in philly and his grandparents had a farm in langhorne pa that raised chickens into the 60's, since they stoped housing chicks then his knowlege is spotty on specifics, he moved here to jersey 15 years ago and wound up with about 50 muskavee ducks and 4 geese by accident, i called them the four horsemen of the appocolypse cause they caused kaos every where they went, one being a horsewoman named ms bigglesworth, he had them for years and thinned the herd until they were gone now he has this rooster that just walked on the property on day and took us for his friends , charlie rooster. Charlie inspired me to get chics of my own so i got 6 hens and 2 guniea foul, greatest idea ever, they follow me everywhere and are now a integral part of our pack of rescued animals. charlie isnt feeling well all the sudden so i posted in the proper spot of the forum hoping i can get a handle on my buddys condition , charlie is a champion and has laughed in the face of adversity before. we quickly found out he is very protective of the property , so much that he battles the intrusion of wild turkey when they were showing up and we havent had one on the property in over a year. but now our loyal watchdog is sick and im hoping the forum can help. i appreciate you guys being here and i hope to see the site continue. thanks again
