I have used wood chips as litter and nest box material for years and will never go back to wood shavings, sand, hay or straw. Give them a try, you won't be sorry! Welcome aboard!

Hi, guess you've found out there is no definitive right or wrong one size fits all answer. I've used chopped straw in the past and used pine shavings in the more recent coop. Some people use other bedding materials such as hemp, sand, pellets, dried leaves, etc. Find what works best for you (is it readily available, does it fit your budget, is it easy to maintain, etc.).

Welcome. I used pine shavings in the coop and nothing in the run unless it has rained hard - then I use pine pellet.
