Just became a member. I’ve had chickens before but just restocked some more. The law of only 5 chickens takes a bit of getting used to. Getting new retiring old. U establish relations with the old hens then they stop laying due to age then what to do. Finding homes for retirement is a bit of a challenge. Rasing new and bonding with the new hens as their personalities come out. When I had chickens before it was making sure they all were not brooding at the same time. Keeping the rooster alive due to the fierce protection they give the hens and property usually losing out to the dog.
I have a hen having problems laying.
she has diarrhea and spends most of the day in and out of the box till the egg finally comes. Is there a reason for this she is 1 yr old in June any things I can look for to tell me what it could be.
Cheers Dean
