Hello everyone! I am not only new to this place but new to raising chickens. We had them on the farm when I was young but don't remember much about what all my dad did.
I recently got 24 assorted layers and they are doing quite well. Getting spoilt like the rest of the animals i have. Cats, 5 of them.
my husband and I have been married for 34 years and have 4 grown children and 6 grandkids.
one daughter and 4 grandkids live with us on 40 acres due east of kansas city about 25 miles.
Gardening and raising chickens have become my hobbies the last few years. Trying to cut food cost!
I work full time as a kitchen manager at a local bar and grill. Been trying to cut my hours some but everytime I do someone else leaves. Good help is hard to find.
I joined the back yard chicken forum to learn a lot of the things, that I will never remember, about raising chickens. maybe one day I'll get good enough to help someone else.
