Hello from Kansas

Welcome to BYC!

March is the kickoff to chick season (In my opinion). Have you ever had chickens before?

You have definitely come to the right place.

I'm glad you joined us.

What breeds of chicks are you thinking about getting? Good luck with your future poultry adventures!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. X2 on Wyandottes7's question; what kind of chicks are you getting? Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your chicks.

Not sure, depends what our local Orscheln store has to offer. Does anyone know if the chicks are sexed at these stores? Wanting good egg production.

Shoppers / kids kind of mess them up in bins, pick up one put it back in the wrong place. Kinda iffy about sexes and breeds being correct in the bins. Some breeds cannot be accurately sexed before 4-5 mos.of age (silkies).

i'm planning on having 5 or 6 chickens. Coop with a run. Should I get all one breed and witch breeds adapt best to this application?
