Hello,
I have been on byc about a year but mostly just come here for advice and browsing the coop build articles. I’m starting to spend more time on byc and I haven’t done one of these before so I wanted to introduce myself!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had chickens for a little over a year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have about 40 chickens right now.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have barred rocks, Ameraucanas, aracanas, Easter eggers, golden comets, cinnamon queens, silkies, Cochins, sultans, 55 flowery hens, black copper Marans, an opal legbar, and a Phoenix.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The fresh eggs and their personalities.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Mostly taking care of my animals and my 10 acre homestead, but I also like riding my motorcycle when the weather is nice.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live with my boyfriend on our 10 acre homestead and we have almost 100 animals, mostly birds of some kind. Other than chickens, we also have Guinea fowl, ducks, peacocks, and emus.
We also have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a kune kune pig.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Just researching chickens before I even got them. I decided to join the community when I was looking into emus and wanted to ask questions about them. I had known about BYC for about a year before I joined.
