Hello all! New to Chicken Raising. Have a huge collection. Kinda got Chicken Fever. Never did the "farming" thing before, have always been a city girl.
My favorite so far is the Golden Campine, have two hens (Claudia and Chloe) and a roo (Copper). Adopted them from someone who got tired of them and wanted younger ones.
Also have some: white leggerns, rirs, production reds, silkies (got them from a friend that wanted to help me with some pretties), domineckers, frizzles (random chickens that just showed up one day-think a neighbor dropped them off and two one month olds that came from another friend, gorgeous little farrah fawcett wannabes), barred rocks (husband thought they were domineckers, he now knows the difference), light brahmas, some barnyard mixes, and some gorgeous blue-splash-black americauna babies. Sounds crazy i know, but i won't purchase anymore. Trying the incubator thing and failing miserably, not a single hatch yet and i have attempted twice. I have ended up with more roos than hens though. Be some good eating on down the line, good thing chicken is easy to fix.
oh and i have 2 cats, 2 dogs, 1 half barrel full of red wrigglers, 10 peking ducks, 2 kids, 1 husband, and 1 great grandmother all living together!
Life isn't any sweeter than it is right now!!!
