My name is Amber. I am happily married for 14 yrs and have 4 children between the ages of 2-11 yrs. We are new to chickens. We got our first chickens this year at Easter '10. We got 8 chicks and thought they were all hens but were surprised to get one rooster. We have 2 Rhode Island Reds, a Barred Rock, a Buff Orpington, a Black Sexlink, and 3 Americanas (2 hens and one rooster). We are enjoying our flock! We only have one Americana that started laying last week. Anxiously waiting for the others to start laying soon. Still have lots to learn about chickens!
