Hello everyone,
I joined last week, and signed up for the Easter "Hatch-a-long" but realized I never introduced myself, so here I am!

I started with chickens last spring. I live in Kittery, Maine, just over NH border I fell in love with my sisters "teddy bear" chicken, and had to have one. That led to 11 more different chickens. Now I've bought myself an incubator and cant wait to hatch my own!

Chickens are so much fun! I hope to someday have a hen go broody so I can watch a chicken mommy raise her own babies!

Hi and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. There's nothing nicer than watching a momma hen with little ones - makes we humans look silly, the way we hatch and brood 'em

What breed of chickens are you raising?

It's nice to have you here!

I have (hens) 2 RIR, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Black Astrolorps, 2 Americana mixs, 1 Barred Rock, 1 bantam Cochin, and 1 bantam cochin (rooster) from my flock I got last spring.

I am incubating my bantam cochin eggs, and some Easter Eggers to add to my flock. I heard that cochin hens often will go broody, so I'm trying to replace the other 2 cochin hens I lost over winter, for a chance to see if one of my hens will try and be a mom. I am so excited!

Good luck with your hatch!
