Hi! We have enjoyed visiting your forum for a year now so we finally decided to join! We have 12 Buff Orpington Hens that we raised from chicks last year! My daughter did a lot of research before she chose Buff Orpingtons and they are so sweet tempered - just perfect for our "first chickens"! Now this last week my son was gifted an Appenzeller-Spitzhauben Rooster! We are excited to learn all we can about our chickens and how to take the very best care of them!

Welcome to BYC!! Yes, Orpingtons make great first birds, and I’ve personally had BOs, theyre so friendly and when they love to be petted! ❤️
