I'm not exactly new to the site I signed up a few years ago. but next spring/summer ill be getting chickens and my hobby farm. just wondering any info I could have or other good websites or books to read

! Great to have you with us! I agree with drumstick diva - I don't think you need to go beyond BYC for all the information you need. There is a forum for everything chicken! Good luck to you and have fun with your future flock!

My very first chickens were rhode island reds and they were great layers and nice birds but my all time favorites are the brahmas. My buff Brahma rooster is extremely laid back and approachable. I've had other breeds of rooster attack my nephew and my husband. Lol not good. My brahma is very docile. The hens are sweet and great layers and adorable with those feathered legs. There are several good beginner breeds just make sure to look
At the more docile breeds when choosing a roo if kids will be present, etc. Just my two cents. :) Let's us know what you end up with and how it goes :)

lol ok I will I still won't be moving till next year but it's never to early to start doing ur research and all that jazz
