I am a fairly new member and started because something got most of my chicks. I've never kept chickens on my own before but recently moved close to my sister and we decided to raise some ourselves. I work in a children's home and we kept chickens a couple of years back and I enjoyed interacting with them at that time and I love farm, fresh eggs.

That must have been very sad. Do you know what took your chicks? Were they outdoors? Predators really can get in anywhere, being predator proof is one of my top priorities. I lost mine to a fox attack thinking they were safe but the fox still managed to get in and kill everyone. I totally changed predator safety after that and really learned my lesson from it.
