Hello My name is Bob, my wife son and myself have recently ventured in to the world of backyard chickens. We currently have 4 chicks in the living room with an outdoor coop waiting for them once they are fully feathered and the weather is warm enough at night. I am looking forward to the information you all are gracious enough to share with us noobies to the forum. Thanks for having me!

Hi :welcome Bob

Glad you could join the flock! Congrats on your chicks :celebrate Kelsie has left you a super link there to the learning centre. What breed/s have you got? Be sure to ask any questions that you may have everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy your new babies and BYC :frow

Definitely stop by our learning center. Kelsie has left you with the link.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!

Thanks guys, I'm sure I will have lots of questions as things progress. An old friend from high school wrote a book on back yard chickens for dummies that my son, who is 8, has been reading to us at bedtime. So far it has given us a great foundation. We have four girls in the living room, three of them are Ameraucanas named Chirp, Peep, and Scramble. Those three are my wife and son's chicks and I have a Plymouth Rock named Florentine. My wife was very adamant about having colored eggs. LOL It's been a fun few weeks so far, I can't wait to get them in their coop. We plan to allow them to free range in the afternoons when we are home and coop them at night. Still not sure about how to train them for that, but we will figure it out. Thanks again for access to the wealth of information.

Welcome to BYC, Bob. Glad you decided join our flock. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.
