To look for articles on your own:

A. Use the SEARCH button, but use the Advanced Search choice, and select ARTICLES at the top of the box. Just enter your keyword(s) and scroll through your results!

B. I find it helpful to notice the rating and reviews. All articles are by BYC members, and all the reviews/ratings are as well. The ratings help a newbie like me sort the most useful and reliable articles.

C. You can bookmark the articles or posts you think you want to refer to again using that bookmark icon at the top of articles or posts. You can find them again by clicking on your own avatar and looking at the list of bookmarks you have built up!

I am in Southeast Louisiana too…
I just finished my coop/run this last weekend. I currently have 6- 3 week old chicks in there now and picking up 5 baby chicks today.

Boy, it’s been some kind of hot!!

My name is Delilah and I'm from southeast Louisiana. We've had a little backyard flock for years. We went for a while with no chickens when we had a raccoon massacre, but last year we revamped the coop and got a whole new flock. Currently, I have a beautiful assortment of silkies, buffs, amberlinks, lakenvelders, easter eggers, cochins and others. And I've hatched a few over the past few weeks with more in the incubator right now. It's been years since I've incubated eggs and I'm relearning everything. I love my chickens. Things that make me happy are my kitties, my quilting, my kids, my chickens and, best of all, my hubby.

Hi Delilah! So happy your here! How’s everything going with your new flock? I’m in New Orleans and just got our first 5 chickens ab a month ago. We think they’re all girls and my husband rescued 2 hens and a roo last night. Would love to see some photos of your flock!
