Hello this is the first forum I have ever even looked at. My husband suggested that I become a member and it looks very interesting so far. This is not our first flock, we raised chickens about 12 years ago. So, now we are starting over with 55 little chicks. We have 25 straight run Freedom Rangers, 15 Cornish Cross roosters, & 15 Buff Operingtons (12 hens, & 3 roosters). My husband wanted me to create a spreadsheet for him to keep up with the income & expenses of this chicken adventure. So, I found BackYardChickens.com by simply typing in "spreadsheets in Excel for Chicken Farming". This looks promising. While reading trough the forum, I found the stories interesting and well, here I am. My Husband & I have been married for 26 years and have 5 children ranging in age from 3 to 15. I think they are going to enjoy chickens. We run a wrecker service, so I work from home. This not only allows me to be home with the kids, but now with the "chicks". Well, now that is a little about me, I would love to join you in sharing my chicken stories and questions. Thanks for having me.
