Hello from Louisville KY

Hello! Welcome! I am from Louisville too!

We built our coop from pallets and recycled wood, all of the kits I looked at were not what I wanted. They just seem so small to me! We keep their food and water on the front porch of their coop, which is covered. We keep additional water in containers out in their run, for both drinking and cooling off in. We give them their treats out in the run, they love to forage and scratch!

Hi neighbor! You will have to fill me in on the best places locally to get supplies!

I get the feed, and such at Tractor Supply up on Preston. The straw, well sometimes Lowes sometimes Home Depot, it can be hard to find close at times! The treats you can of course buy, but it is fairly simple to grow mealworms and they love them!!! If you have a garden, they love the weeds and thinnings!

I've found a good supply of things at rural king, across the river. I live in Clifton so that is closer than Preston, with traffic, a lot of times. I plan on making/providing most of their treats & I do have a garden. I will keep an eye out for straw - thanks!
