Greetings from southern Maine! I live and work on one of Maine's oldest continually operated family farms.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This was my first season raising chickens. Got our first chicks in February. Can honestly say that I love farming and raising chickens and hopefully will do so the rest of my life.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have a flock of 90 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
White Leghorn, Black Australorps, Columbian Wyandottes, Freedom Rangers
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Was doing research online in January before the chicks arrived. Lots of information in this forum that was very helpful for a first time owner.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Love hunting, fishing, baseball, and FOOD!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married into a farming family, gave up a desk job to help out here at the farm, and have loved every minute of it. Wanted to sell eggs for some extra income. Have been blessed with three wonderful kids who have enjoyed the chicken experience as much as I have.
