Hello!! It"s nice to have a place with like minded people who love chickens! I grew up with chickens, but just recently got back into them. I have 8 hens, 3 Buff Orpingtons, and five Mutts.. I think 3 of them are Golden Comets. I also have some Bantams.. a black Frizzle hen,A Buff Silkie,1 Americana,1 Cochin, and 3 Roosters...2 are Old English Bantams and one is some kind of weird game bird ...He is my favorite!! His name is King George and he's a RIOT..Friendly and calm. They are kept at my Mom's next door. I am looking to get some more hens in the spring at my place to raise for eggs and pets. People think that i am crazy, but i find them very relaxing and fun to take care of. I like to spoil my chickies...they make me HAPPY!

from a fellow Mainer. Be on the lookout for the local Chickkenstocks that will start up again this spring. So far there should be one at both the Oxford and Lewiston TSC. And there are usually a couple at the Augusta TSC too.
