Have a look at the Local Chicken Laws & Ordinances (and how to change them) for more info on chicken related legalities. If you can keep them have a look at the Coop section for ideas. There are many ways to get a coop and run set up and you can do it very cheap, especially if you go the DIY route. The Learning Centre here is a good place to start learning about every chicken and the blue "sticky" threads in each section goes more in depth on things like breeding, taking care of chicks, feeding etc. There is tons of info here!
