Hello from Massachusetts!

Hello BYC!
We've had chickens for almost a year now, and get so much help from this site we figured it was time to sign up! We have 3 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Araucanas, 3 Leghorns, 3 B/W Polish, and just reserved 3 Barred Rock at the local feed shop. Our chickens are all so different but they are all so much fun! They don't really like us to play with them that much, but the Polish love to chase us around the yard!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you are having a lot of fun with your birds, Polish are so cute, love your avatar! Sounds like you have a really colorful flock and egg basket! Good luck with the Barred Rocks when you able to pick them up.

Welcome to BYC!

So glad you finally decided to join! Chickens can be a bit timid unless you work with them. Go sit in the run with them on their level, the ground. Bring some goodies and toss them around you so they have to come close. You can even hold them in your hand. If you sit quietly with them every day for a few weeks, eventually you will become a very positive person in their lives. Pretty soon you won't get them off you and will stalk you for goodies every time they see you.
