(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family hatched 6 chickens when I was in high school and they're still doing well 8 years later. I bought a house almost 2 years ago and am considering adding a few hens to the family. I currently have 7 coturnix quail.
(2) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I think chickens are such cool creatures. They're intelligent and have interesting social dynamics. I think they're really similar to cats.
(3) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like kayaking, hiking, reading, and watching horror movies.
(4) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm an accountant and I have several other pets. Dogs, cats, rabbits, and quail.
(5) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've known about this website for about 5 years or more. I've been a lurker for ages but since I have quail now I thought it would be fun to contribute and discuss with other folks.
