Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? This is actually our 2nd flock. :-( We lost our original flock 2 1/2 years ago. Our current flock we have had for almost a year and a half. Things are going well since the improvement to our coop.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 7
(3) What breeds do you have? We have an easter egger, and 3 other unknown breeds from the the farm store. I'm bad with names.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? How curious they are. Nothing like coming outside and here come a mess of chickens. Or when the kids play outside, the chickens keep their distance, but they are always watching the kids.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? What are hobbies? I don't have a lot of spare time to myself.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 6 kids ages 12-5 years in age. I like to camp. I sometimes work for Shipt when I feel like it. I am a Girl Scout troop leader and I may be picking up a lever in Cub Scouts this year.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have known about BYC for several years. I joined under another name about 5 years ago before we got our original flock. I took a long break because FB was easier and my SN kids needed more attention with therapy and what not. Now I am back looking for some hatching eggs for my broody hen.
