I'm looking to start some chickens in Michigan with my new house I just bought and looking around to see what would be some good chicks to get for my yard and were is a good place to get them

You might want to chat with others in your state for more info on breeders or hatcheries in your area, and also do some reading in our learning center for tips and hints on raising and keeping your new flock...

There are also lots of good hatcheries country wide that sell chicks....Murray McMurray, My Pet Chicken, Meyers, etc..

I'm from Michigan too and just joined today. What part of the mitten are you from? When we started we picked up chicks at one of the local farm stores or mills (Family Farm and Home, TSC......) We have had good luck with all our birds purchased to date.
