I'm really new to this, so I hope I'm doing this right. If you reply to me and I don't answer you, it's only because I'm not sure how to do all this (I'm a Computer for Dummies kind of gal). But I would love to make friends with some fellow chicken lovers! We started our flock in the spring of 2013. We have lost a few, but at this point we have 1 rooster who is a Partridge Plymouth Rock, 2 Australorp hens, 2 Buff Brahma hens, and 1 hen who is a cross between the rooster and a Buff Brahma. I actually came on here to ask a few questions about Welsummer hens. I thought I heard that they are kind of small - do you think they would be too small to put with the rest of our flock, or are they about the same size as other standard hens? Also, from photos, I really can't tell what the main color on their bodies is. They often look kind of grayish in photos, but then sometimes they look more brownish. If anyone could help me out with my two questions, I would really appreciate it very much! I look forward to more chicken talk with you all!

Hello and welcome to BYC. Sorry, I'm no breed expert. Maybe use the search box to see if there is a thread devoted to Welsummers

Hi! Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I'll have to do some more research. I was just being lazy - hoping some of the people on here who are familiar with Wellies could save me some work - lol.
