(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've been around chickens and all kinds of other farm animals since I was born. In 2009 I started to show poultry in 4-H, then in FFA too in 2010. Before then I showed other animals in 4-H.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I currently have 14 show chickens, 15 chicks still in the brooder (which increases everyday), 10 full grown chickens, then about 75 older chicks running around with the adults that my hens hatched out this year.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have black, blue, white, splash, silverlaced, and mottled varieties of bantam cochins. I also have blue silkies.

(4) What are some of your other hobbies?

Well, in my free time I play video games, read, and write stories. I also like to go outside and just watch my animals. As mentioned earlier, I show bantam cochins and silkies, as well as flemish giant rabbits.

(5) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My family includes me (16), my two older brothers (20,22), and my parents. My dad is the main reason I got into raising chickens, since he used to show them when he was a kid. He also showed rabbits, which I've been doing since 2006. I live in Missouri in the county on 120 acres, about one and a half hours south east from Kansas City. As for the other animals I own personally, I have:

-19 Guineas
-23 Pigeons: Birmingham Rollers, West of England Tumblers
-13 Turkeys: royal palms
-36 Ducks: mallards, rouens
-6 Cats
-1 Horse: 34 year old QH mare
-1 Sheep
-1 Steer: black angus
-3 Lizards: bearded dragons
-4 Dogs: Australian Shepherds

It does keep me busy, but it's worth it. The majority of them are ones I've hatched out this year and last. I love every single one of them though. And thanks!
