Hello, I'm not so new to the forum, but I thought I'd introduce myself.
My name is Nicole and I'm a 36 year old disabled SAHM of 3 beautiful girls. I broke my neck while playing with my girls 3 years ago, which led me disabled due to permanent spinal cord damage. I mainly deal with severe pain and the limitations that go along with it.
We recently added chicks to our household this past March. Hubby and I tasted fresh eggs from his cousin and upon eating our first egg, we knew we'd have to raise our own chickens. We planned it for a year calculating costs and coming up with coop plans. Nothing turned out as expected or planned! It's much better!
Our limit of 2 chicks grew quite quickly to 8. No one ever warned me of chicken math. To my surprised hubby has not gotten upset with me bringing so many chicks home either. We have 2 EE's, SS, GLW, RIR, d'uccle, dark brahma, and a frizzle Cochin. Our coop is big enough for a few more and I plan on breeding the frizzle Cochin with the neighbors rooster.
