I have been a lurker and have searched these forums for answers to my questions previously but only recently decided to join up! Especially since I have some questions that I can't seem to find helpful answers to.
I am not good at talking about myself unless someone has a specific question so the sample questions are excellent help.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Kind of. Picked up my first 4 chicks and 2 Magpie ducklings from our farm supply place last year. Picked up 3 more chickens and 2 Embden geese this spring.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
7 chickens, 2 ducks, and 2 geese.
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 types of Wyandottes, 2 types of Easter Eggers, 1 Polish, and 2 other breeds I can't remember the names. All 7 birds are different.
Ducks are Magpies. Geese are Embden. All female.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs AND pest control. This is the first summer we haven't had problems with June bugs or Box Elder bugs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Horseback riding, short track amateur auto racing, painting/art creation, various crafts.
