Hello from Montana and thank you for all of the wonderful information here. My husband and I took on a flock of chickens left behind by their previous owner about a year ago. I've learned so much by Google-ing and being led to this sight. I thought it time I actually join. We have 11 hens that were left and they are a mix. I'm still not sure what two of them are, but thinking possible Rhode Islands the others I think are Wyandotte and white leg horns. But based on pictures could all be orpingtons. Whatever they are we enjoy them. We also have the chick we raised this spring who is a red sex link, and a total mama's girl. The other's would not accept her so she lives in her own coop. I look forward to visiting regularly and learning more.

How nice you have a special mama's girl of your own. Glad to hear you are enjoying the flock.

Have you seen the great articles in the Learning Center yet? They cover a wide range of poultry topics and can be very helpful. Here's a link to help you get there:
