Hahhaha I saw a emu egg listing on eBay... if I thought I could hatch them I’d have them on their way already :lau

Lol my husband (bless him and his realization that chickens are cheaper than Horses) is planning some new chicken habitats so I can raise some specific breeds rather than a bunch of mixes. There’s a few I’d really like to try out but not sure if I can get hatching eggs locally

Whiting True blues
All colours of Brahmas
Olive Eggers
Lavenders ( not picky on breed I think they just lay brown eggs)

Ideally I’d like to get some breeds that lay 260 -290 eggs a year without light manipulation. Start up a small word of mouth egg lady operation.. skip getting a real day job :caf

I really want to recommend Lavender Orpingtons. But, I'm basing that on how well my Buff Orpingtons lay, and how beautfiful my Lavender Orpington pullets are!!!! But, they are only 4 months old and haven't laid yet. :idunno They are wonderful birds no matter how much they lay!!! (But my faves are still Buff Orpingtons).
