Hi everyone!
It’s been a few years since I was last in the chicken world, but I’m excited (and honestly a little emotional) to say I’m back at it again.
About 5 years ago, I had a small flock that I loved deeply — until a predator attack wiped out the entire coop in one heartbreaking night. It took the wind out of me, and I had to step away from raising birds for a while.
Fast forward to now — I’ve got 8 acres, a lot more time, and a whole new vision: building a real-deal homestead from the ground up. Chickens are the first step. Ducks and geese came next. And with a new, secure pen (and maybe an over-the-top coop in progress
), I’m starting fresh and bringing some fun with me. We’re calling it: Mother Flucker Farms. Yep — it’s going to be that kind of place!

I’m here to learn, share, and connect with other chicken keepers who’ve been through the ups and downs. Looking forward to swapping stories, ideas, and maybe a few coop designs along the way.

But so glad you have recovered and are back on track with new birds and a new attitude! You probably know you can't keep drakes with chicken hens, right?
