I'm starting a batch of black copper marans. Anyone know what the right correct humidity should be when incubating? I've been told everything from dry to 55 degrees. Also been told to do a dry hatch for the first 7 days. Then start to increase the humidity. Help!》!

and Welcome To BYC! You might like to check over at the Incubating & Hatching Eggs forum for suggestions https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-hatching-eggs there are also some Marans thread in the Breeds section, some of those discuss hatching https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/444381/black-copper-marans-discussion-thread And Here is a BYC member article with some interesting ideas in it https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-dark-eggs

Great starting points from Kelsie. Welcome to BYC, and good luck with your hatch.

So I dropped my batch on this past Sunday. Got my temps stable at 99.5 I'm trying the dry hatch method. My humidity is between 20-30%.Is this good?

If you have an accurate enough scale, you may want to go ahead and keep track of egg weights also, Marans eggs can be rather tough to candle to keep track of air cells.

Please do not miss understand the term dry hatch as you still need humidity in all cases or you will dry out the egg's
and the dry hatch has to do a lot with the humidity outside the incubator also so for like me here in Death Valley California
where the humidity is ( 0- ) I still need to bring the humidity up to 20% humidity at 99.5 degrees temp or in the summer
months down to 99.5 for a hatch but just so you do not miss understand a dry hatch is 20% humidity and wet hatch is
40%+ humidity at 99.5 with a fan to move the air and 102 still air ....

Now remember always keep records or your hatches as this will always help you in the future so you know what works
for you where you are as every thing from altitude to weather all affect your hatches and always clean out your incubator
as this is as important as fertile egg's
