Hi everyone,
I need to go ahead and do this hello thing, so here is my introduction. I'm a Nashville, TN resident where the city recently decided it was ok for most of us (unfortunately some council members opted their districts out) to keep chickens. I want to keep chickens mainly for the eggs, secondly for the bug killing option, composting properties, and lastly because I think it will be entertaining. With my property, I'm allowed to keep 6 hens, no roosters. I have a teenage daughter and a boyfriend who are willing to help out some, and we're excited about the whole thing. Looking forward to getting our pullets and watching them grow. Overwhelmed a bit by all the information here, but wading through it as best I can, and not a visit goes by without my learning something new.
