My name is Dawn. My husband Joe and I have a small farm in the foothills of NC. We have two German Shepherds who watch over our flocks of 21 chickens and 15 guineas. Our flock of chickens include 8 araucana, 6 silkie, 1 white leghorn, 5 polish and one game rooster who keeps everyone safe. We also have one cat who keeps the mice away! We have been blessed with birds for over 20 years.

Welcome to BYC, Dawn. Glad you decided join our flock. Sounds like you have a very nice farm. It's good your German Shepherds actually protect your chickens rather than chase and kill them which has so often been the case with BYC members' dogs (even small ones like Chihuahuas).
