Hi there! Here’s my intro answers:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We’ve had chickens off & on for the last 20 yrs., depending on where we lived
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
1 roo, 6 hens, 6 4-day old chicks
(3) What breeds do you have?
Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, Cookoo Maran, Leghorn, Easter Egger, Wyandotte Bantam, Buff Orpington, Wellsummers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Entertainment, eggs, compost
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Anything creative! I’m a maker/builder, love to paint, sew, crochet, garden
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a food forest/edible yard, and follow as much permaculture practice as we can on our little suburban lot. We also raise rabbits, and have 1 dog & 2 cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve been reading on the site FOREVER but realized now that I’m expanding my flock I should say hello & thank you to everyone for all the great info here!
