I've had chickens pretty much my whole life, but only about three or four at a time. When my husband and I got married 3 years ago we moved to a more rural area and average about 20 chickens. Right now I have a pair of silver duckwing bantams, two ameracaunas, two barred rocks, one welsummer, three white leghorns, two black austrolorps, and three black marans (two hens and a roo). I have a Black austrolorp X Ameracauna roo that lives with all my other hens. Just in the last week I've started selling laying hens and quickly discovered how good the chicken market is. Now I wish I hadn't sold so many hens! I'm selling fertile hatching eggs and incubating eggs to sell chicks. I'd love to get some advice on making a little money doing this. Right now I'm just trying to cover all my expenses, but I'd like to be able to make it worthwhile. Any tips?
