:DSorry about falling in the door the way I did...but I've been lurking and peeking in the forum window sense Dec. I'm registered, bonified and baptized into the world of feathers and beaks........and I'm SOOOOO in love with my "girls".

I'm a city girl turned country girl in my ol age.....we bought a 10 acre hobby farm and if it crows it's finding it's way to my door. As I speak I have four 10 week old Jananese black tailed buff bantys in a small holding pen on my back porch. They are much amusement
for my two shih tzus. Outside in the corner of the garage is the "girls" I have 3 BR, 1 Blk cochin, 1 RIR and 1 Araucana. At one point I had 39 chickens...but one by one the foxes got them...and then I picked up some more and they were sick...didn't know it and the rest fell victim....I'm left with "the girls" and doing fine.....yesterday the bantys came to live here....I keep the pair of adults in a tall domed wire flight cage right next to the girls, till I see if they get along or not. The little ones I'll keep inside a bit longer.

Hubby is still to build me a chicken house.......and a big run......free ranging here is just too dangerous.

I'll be in and out hanging out here...reading, learning, sharing and if you excuse the fact that I'm a terrible speller, I'll post more and more.......

Thank YOU fellow feather lovers........

Alls well this am up on Eagles View.....I moved the little bantys outside today...they are having great fun scratching through their
wire cage bottom...I lost track of time observing them play with a wooly worm....they didn't know to eat it or play with it...LOL

Keep your fingers crossed that the man person here of 32 years, feels sorry for me and da girls and builds them a chicken palace
real soon.....

I'll be roaming the topics now....

*current news*
the young black cochin laid her fist egg today! she's 6 months 3 days....sure is little!
gearing up for the big 4th of July party....I'll brief the little nieces and nephews from the
city to LEAVE MY GIRLS alone....they will not be fair game for the "city kids packing bb guns
cause your going to the country" fate.

And so it crows, up here on Eagles View in NE Mo.

Welcome, sorry about your losses, it is a dangerous world for chickens in Missouri. I am in the same boat. My new chicks will be here in 10 days
