Hello community of BYC,
My wife and I moved into our first home this summer and have been going hard at improving our property from the get go. We have planted apple and peach trees along with others, fixed up fencing, cleaned old sheds, painted many walls, re-floored the house, and most relevant to this site... GOT CHICKENS!!! Neither of us were raised on a farm or have had much experience with husbandry of any kind, but are learning lots from ya'll her on BYC.
We have Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, Barred Legghorns, and Black Copper Marans we are intending to breeding under our Bantam Cochins. We have experienced a lot in these few short months with our chickens from death and sickness to shell-less eggs and now our first brood of chicks due the 20th of December!!!
We love the incite of all you old-timers on here and cherish this resource as we raise our flocks.
