Hello from NE Oklahoma

My name is Kathryn, my husband, Johnny decided to build a chicken house in the backyard this spring and get chickens for us. We are retired with 2 dogs who enjoying guarding the rooster and hens. We got Rhode Island Reds. Rooster Cogburn and 5 ladies for him. Some days we get 5 eggs and then once in a while one or two eggs. They follow my husband around the yard, finding many bugs, we like watching Rooster calling his ladies to let them know he has a treat for them. If I go out the back door to check the nest, they come running to see if I have any treats for them. We are learning about chickens all over again as our mothers had chickens when we were both small.
