Love my freeranging roosters... they need a water bowl or a source of water, and a pile of food somewhere... that's about all... oh and shelter from the weather which he must already have in the barn. By the way.. a LOT of dogs decide that Rooster & Chicken are yummy... especially FRESH... so keep a good eye on your pooches if you wanna keep Ricky around.

Now once you get the hang of Ricky, you'll need to get him a few girls

plenty of us here to help you accomplish that.

Thank you so much everyone! Ricky has food, water, shelter in the garage/barn. This morning he was roosting in a tree out behind our house. I could hear him but I couldn't see him.

Thank goodness I don't have any neighbors because if they could have seen this city girl at 7am in her nightgown, out back calling, "c'mere Ricky, where the heck are ya?!?" they most certainly would have called the men in the white coats for me. LOL!!! I finally noticed him up in a tree.

My dogs aren't allowed to roam free and are kenneled or are outside with my husband and I. My 2 year old little border collie is the one most interested in Ricky. My 10 year old German Shepard isn't the least bit phased by him. My 4 month husky runs and hides every time Ricky crows! LOL

I told my grandson that we need to get Ricky some girlfriends. My grandson told me "that's gross." LOL

I'm really looking forward to getting to know people here and learning from you. I have spent a good portion of my time looking at chickens, chicken pictures, etc. since Ricky showed up here.

Welcome to the world of chickens! It sounds like you need to build him a coop and run and then find him those beautiful lady friends to lay fresh eggs for you every day.
