La Granja Boricua
In the Brooder
Hello everyone,
My family is new to the backyard chicken life, but we are eager to get started. When I was much younger, my family raised chickens and had a modest fruit/vegetable garden in our lot back in Puerto Rico. All of our chickens roamed freely and needed little-to-no upkeep due to the size of the yard. The laws and restrictions, as well as our sized lot means we have a lot of learning and adapting to do before we get started. We are excited to get our permit, buy a chicken coop, and take care of some chicks! Our main goal is to keep the hens as pets, but to consume the eggs as well. It seems there's so much more that we didn't even know about. I'm looking forward to reading through threads and educating myself on all things chickens!
