Hello from Nebraska!

Hello, we just started with chickens about 3 weeks ago and have gotten a lot of information from here so finally decided to join and be able to post questions and one day maybe even be able to answer some questions as well. We are very new to this Chicken raising, attempted to educate ourselves some, had a coop built by a friend, then went to Bomgaars to get some more education and supplies, then found an ad on Craigslist and bought some chickens.

We have 4 silkie chickens, 3 hens and 1 rooster that are now about 11 weeks old (according to the guy we bought them from). My daughter wants to get involved in 4H with the chickens. They are the cutest little things! I could just sit outside and watch them all day.

I'm sure we will have lots of questions after I get a little more famillar with this forum such as posting questions etc.....

Welcome from Northern California! My two children were in 4H with rabbits. But I think you'll have even more fun with chickens! They each have such unique personalities, and your daughter will have a great time learning about them and perhaps even showing them. Have fun!
