Just wanted to introduce myself to the board.
My husband and three children and I recently moved to New Mexico and purchased a home with over an acre. It was horse property but now is hen property with a converted hen barn. We are almost finished with the outside coop area. We started with 5 chicks from different feed stores(2 Comets, 1 Jersey Giant,1 EE,1 unknown). I am now realizing that you don't always get what you think you are buying from the feed stores. I was hoping my daughter could maybe show a hen but I need to educate myself more on breeds and standards for showing in my area and such.
It is nice to see so many people who love backyard hens like we do.
