Hello from New Mexico

BO pullet, barred rock pair, leghorn pullet (we think),bantam silkie, polish & some sort of rock, a mixed hen, 3 Americauna pullets, a pretty rooster, 2 runner ducks & 3 baby guineas. Those are the birds! 5 dogs, 4 cats, a corn snake & a horse round out the group. Had a baby goat, but he got out into the horse pen & my mare trampled him. Poor guy. No more goats for us.

That's a good mix breeds that you have. I like the calm, sweet disposition of the BOs and Silkies, and my granddaughter likes the colored eggs of the Ameraucanas (actually Easter Eggers not true Ameraucanas). Sorry for the loss of your baby goat. Good luck with your farm.

Had about 30 seconds of heavy drops earlier today. Other than that it's just super windy.

We just got about the same....heavy drops for 15 or 20 seconds. Sun was shining at the same time. Ha!

Anyone in Albuquerque area have pheasants? We are looking for young ones but not babies. Lady Amherst is a favorite, but looking at all breeds.

Sorry for your losses. Hope that is the end of them for a long while. Welcome to the flock. Please keep an eye on the dogs.

The dogs weren't in the chickens yard. It was the other way around. Darn chickens thought the grass was greener on the dogs side. We fixed the fence issue & all is peaceful now.
