Hi everyone

I noticed as I was searching the internet that Back Yard Chickens seemed the place to be. I have read many useful tips from members of this site

I've had 6 chooks for about 2 years and have slowly increased that number to 18.
I am (well 2 of my broody hens are) attempting to hatch 12 eggs - this is the first time I've tried to hatch any eggs, with luck I hope to have my first d'Uccle bantams.

In my coop right now I have:
Hens:
2 Plymouth Rocks
1 Light Sussex
1 Coronation Sussex
2 Shavers
4 crossbred shavers
4 Australorps (i'm guessing they are crossbred with some other breed as well)
1 Black Orpington
and 1 little white chook that i have no idea what she could be

Roosters/Cockerels: (at the moment)
1 Ancona
1 part Australorpe

I will happily take on any healthy pullet/hen for their eggs.

I am currently setting up a few breeding cages to breed 'pure' breeds.

No doubt I will eventually be bombarding forums with questions

as well as reading up on helpful advice.

Thanks for taking the time to read

The more I look around this site the more breeds of chooks I want

It's so easy to become addicted to chooks (lol, it didn't take me long) but I know that limiting the amount I have, and will have by the time I've selected my breeding stock, will be better for my entire flock

There are so many amazing breeds to choose from! Make sure you build big coops and runs LOL. And good luck with your hatch!
