Hi! I am a new mom September 19th of 3 Plymouth Rock hens. They have started laying already in the middle of winter! I have a problem though. One of my luvs has a split beak, the middle goes down normal but on the left and right it is split. They are used to being held so I can try to cut it but I need to know exactly how to do it! Please reply. I hope she is okay. I love them like my dogs!!

I don't know, but, one of mine had about 1/4" of the end split on the top beak and it was starting to curl under the bottom beak. When she pecked things it would open up and flex to the sides, so it wasn't getting worn down. I cut it back to match the bottom. Seems to be fine and there was no bleeding.
