Hello everyone! I joined this forum quite a while back to do my homework on all things chicken, hoping to be able to set up my own small flock. Well to my disappointment, hubby put the brakes on my plans. We are new to the semi-rural life and he wants us to get the house and yard settled before starting any new hobbies. So I kind of stopped reading here and focused on my veggie garden for a bit. Slowly, I have been working on changing his mind. We are both addicted to fresh eggs from free-ranged hens thanks to a friend with 100+ Barred Rocks. With any luck we might be building our coop in a couple of years. Meanwhile, I plan on stopping in here from time to time to read up.
