Hello from North East Scotland

Thank you for your lovely comments. Unfortunately the sick chicken had egg peritonitis and I had to have her put to sleep. It's always a sad thing to lose an animal, but that is only the second time we have had peritonitis in almost 8 years so I think we have been very lucky. Got two new pullets to cheer myself up, Martha and Betsy, 18 week old Hyline. They are still to meet the rest of the gang.
These are a couple of my Scots Greys - I don't have a cockerel as we have neighbours who may not appreciate the noise. These chickens are 8 years old now! I have marans who are about 5 years old and a couple of 2 year old hybrids as well as my new ones.
Thank you for sharing a photo. I'm sorry for your loss, but congratulations on the 2 new birds. Your girls have some lovely green yard to scratch and peck in.

Welcome to BYC it's an awesome site with lots of help and advice :) I'm new to keeping the chickens and this place has been invaluable to myself..I only have girls to as I don't think the neighbours would be to chuffed lol I'm in sunny (aye right) wishaw Lanarkshire
