Thanks for your feedback.

I plan on .5 " mesh for the coop and add a completely screened in run of 8' x 8'.
I should have plenty of scrap lumber, the steel mesh is a bit pricey.

What size mesh would you recommend for the run walls?
Is chicken wire adequate for the run roof?

I've got no rooster for protection. Do you think I can let them free range unattended, outside the run, for a few hours each day?
