Just wanted to say "Howdy" to everyone. We're in North Texas, and have a backyard flock of 6. 3 were rescued through a bird sanctuary in Dallas, and 3 came home from my son's 3rd grade science project. 3 are laying, the rest are expected to start laying sometime in March. Very excited to learn from y'all and share some of my learnings. I

I'll post pictures of our flock when I get some good pictures taken.

I do enjoy them - a lot!

One of my favorite parts of the day is when I pick them fresh greens from the winter garden in the early evening...I pour a Guinness, and sit and watch them cluck about while the devour the greens. I really wish I spoke "chicken" because the drama involved in the "eating of the greens" seems absolutely fascinating.

One of my birds still (since shortly after birth) climbs up my arm and sits on my shoulder when I visit in the coop. How fun is that! :)
