Hello from northeast ohio

I have 2 chickens a rooster that's new my family I rescued from a local park and a hen that is 15 years old
We've had her for 15 years but she was grown when we got her she jumped off a chicken truck and found her wondering the neighborhood and had her ever since . We call her the Golden chicken. She even laid pinkish eggs. If you know her breed lmk cuz we've never been able to figure it out. .we just rescued a rooster from a nearby Indian reserve park that was wondering through the woods a week ago

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Senior hens are such a joy to keep. They have gained an incredible amount of wisdom to live this long. They can become picky eaters and this helps keep them alive, they know what they need. If you experience cold winters, definitely offer up heat if she's thin, it can save and extend her life. She may not be able to roost either, make her up a nice bedded corner on the floor, she will appreciate it.

She has her own memory foam bed on my counter in my kitchen . She has the best life a chicken can have.

She's beautiful! That's very old for a chicken and quite impressive, she looks pretty good for her age too. :love
